Hero Shards are pieces you need to upgrade a hero’s star level in Kingshot. Raising a hero’s star levels unlocks new skills, lets you level up existing skills, and gives a significant power boost. It also unlocks the hero’s story.
Each hero has 5 star levels, and you’ll need a total of 1,065 Hero Shards to fully max them out. Additionally, you need 20 shards to unlock Amadeus and 40 shards to unlock Chenko, while all other heroes require 10 shards to be unlocked.

Types of Hero Shards
There are two types of Hero Shards in Kingshot: General Hero Shards and Hero-Specific Shards.
- General Hero Shards can be exchanged for any hero’s fragments, as long as the rarity matches.
- Hero-Specific Shards automatically go to the hero they belong to.
However, Amadeus and Helga are exclusive heroes that can only be upgraded using their own Hero-Specific Shards, meaning you can’t use General Hero Shards for them. For all other heroes, you can exchange General Hero Shards for their fragments.
Hero Shards come in three rarities:
- Rare Hero Shards (Blue) – Used for upgrading Rare Heroes. You can get them from Intel Missions, Conquest, Hero Hall, VIP Shop, special events, and packs.
- Epic Hero Shards (Purple) – Used for upgrading Epic Heroes. Obtainable through Intel Missions, Conquest, Hero Hall, Alliance Shop, VIP Shop, Terrors, events, and packs.
- Mythic Hero Shards (Gold) – Needed for Mythic Heroes. You can find them in Arena leaderboards, Intel Missions (later generations), Fishing Event, VIP Shop, Swordland Shop, some Conquest levels, hero recruitment, events, and packs.
