Story

Chapter 1

"Want to see some real magic?" Margot's painted face split in a crooked grin, her hat swaying with each peal of laughter. The wealthy magnate, still chuckling from her comedic mime, suddenly found a golden dagger pressed to his throat. "Thanks for watching my performance..." She conveyed the message silently just by changing the shape of her lips, yet it was enough to stop the magnate cold. As the golden blade cut through his arteries with precision, the magnate dropped with a heavy thud. Margot wiped the paint from her face with bloodstained gloves, bringing yet another scintillating "performance" to a close.

Chapter 2

"Loser," Margot's father snarled. "You'll starve if you can't pull off the tricks!" In a daze, Margot's mind drifted back to her childhood, when even the smallest mistake in practice meant her fragile body was met with brutal lashes. To her father, she wasn't a daughter to be cared for—just a tool to turn a profit. As the thunderous lightning and pouring rain dragged Margot back to reality, she shoved the lifeless body aside and limped out of the alley. Despite the storm, the blood on the cobblestones remained vivid and glaring...

Chapter 3

Margot was stunned when someone offered her 300 gold to take out a governor, given the usual fee barely reached 10 gold. She noticed it when her employer inadvertently revealed his sword hilt bearing the Cesares' emblem... Margot thought of the rising governor who had thwarted several Cesares' attacks and even forged an alliance with some nearby towns. "What a fascinating man… Too bad for him—because I, the Revel Fang, am about to earn 300 gold."

Chapter 4

Her sixth assassination attempt failed. Frustrated, Margot couldn't understand how someone so weak had so many loyal followers. There was a burly man who shielded the governor with his own body, and a flashy guy who acted casual but instinctively stepped up when needed. Then there was this petite fortune teller who always seemed to sense danger before Margot even started her "performance"... No one had ever left Margot feeling so defeated. Burning with resolve, she began her seventh attempt...
