Story

Wilson was once a royal messenger serving the royal court. Whenever any decree was issued, he would be sent out to deliver it to the people. Good news, bad news, judgments... Countless messages passed through his lips. He had seen crowds of citizens gathering in cheers, old women who fainted from grief, and criminals so terrified they dropped to their knees begging for mercy on the spot.

But no matter the situation, Wilson could only ever keep his expression stiff and stern, or rather, he had no choice but to. He had to preserve the dignity of the royal family at all times. The chaos before him felt like it belonged to another world entirely.

Over time, Wilson grew weary of that life. He chose to leave the court and become a messenger for an Alliance, where he no longer had to be an unfeeling machine, just passing messages along. When delivering good news, he would be embraced by others as they celebrated together, and when delivering bad news, he could gently comfort the person in front of him. His life finally gained a bit of color.

"There's good news and bad news... Just kidding, haha, only good news. I've decided to join. From now on, can you let me deliver good news every day?"

Affinity

Affinity levels run from 1 to 100 and are raised with Journey and gifts. Every 10 levels advances relationship status for Master Emblems and adds a larger squad bonus. Affinity 100 unlocks Special Research.

How research works

Unlocks at Affinity Level 100.
Each research spends Master Emblems and raises research level by 1.
Every 20 research levels unlocks a milestone buff (10 milestones per path, fewer on partial paths).
Paths for this master: Competent → Proficient → Expert → Peerless → Master. Milestone order differs by path so totals land on different stats first.
Research also adds Research Power used for some later upgrade gates.
This master has two research trees: tree 1 uses 10 Emblems per research; tree 2 (levels 601+) uses 20 Emblems per research.
Each research also raises a global progress buff (Squad HP), up to +32.0% at full research. Path Stats milestones are separate.
